This is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot 7%, Cabernet Franc, and 6% Malbec. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, char, tobacco, slight graphite and spice. Full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, this drinks well. Flavors of cassis, plums with some tobacco and char. Good finish. This is drinking well on its own and will work nicely with beef dishes. Drink over the next five to ten years.
Another wine from this new producer. Philippe Melka is the winemaker. purple in color, opaque and bright. More of a claret style of Cab than a fruit bomb. The nose has cassis, graphite, rosemary and slight tobacco. On the palate, there is cassis, camphor with a slight sour cherry note that is interesting. Nice acidity. Good finish. This seems a bit more restrained and in need of air/time. It should get better with about five to seven years of cellaring and then drink well for another seven to ten years. It will work with a wide range of food.
Very nice showing for this wine. It has long been a steakhouse restaurant favorite yet its fans remain consistent and loyal. It was a pleasure to drink this and it had been some time since enjoying this wine. Purple in color with ruby swirls. The nose is nice with cassis, cherries, cedar and spice. It has a nice sinewy texture. Softer with light tannins. On the palate, there is some depth/complexity with cassis and char. Long finish.
