2006 Schrader Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, USA, California, Napa, Oakville, Wine Review
Beautiful wine. It has just about reached maturity but still has plenty of life left. Purple in color, opaque and bright. Great nose of cassis, cedar, graphite and char. Full bodied. Light to medium tannins. Nice balance. On the palate, this is delicious. Flavors of cassis, chocolate, slight blueberries, spice and char. Complex and deep. Long finish. This should drink well for another ten years before starting a slow decay. It is great on its own and would work nicely with grilled meat dishes.
2020 Bedrock Wine Co. Syrah T 'n' S Blocks Hudson Vineyard South, USA, California, Carneros, Wine Review
Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great with black raspberries, bacon fat, char, spice and slight floral tones. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, this is a big wine but not over blown. Flavors of black raspberries, roasted meats and slight herbal notes. Long finish. This is still on the young side, so give it air if drinking now. It should drink well for another ten to fifteen years. This would work well with Indian cuisine.

2016 M. Chapoutier Banyuls Vin Doux Naturel, France, Roussillon, Wine Review
2016 Gérard Bertrand Château l'Hospitalet Grand Vin, France, Languedoc, Coteaux du Languedoc La Clape AOP, Wine Review
In a recent blind tasting of Languedoc wines, this was the clear winner. It is a blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre. Purple in color, clear and bright. The nose has black cherries, black raspberries, spice, slight black olives and strawberries. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. Good balance. On the palate, this is tasty with flavors of black cherries and black raspberries along with a bit of spice and pepper. Nice finish. This drinks well on its own but better with food. This would be a nice wine with grilled meats or fowl. Drink over the next few years.
2019 Maison Cassagne et Vitailles Nimalaya Vieux Carignan, France, Languedoc, Wine Review
This is 100% Carignan from the south of France. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, some cherries, spice and dust. Light bodied. Thin texture. Good acidity. On the palate, flavors of black cherries. Moderate finish. This is much better with food and went well with a Spinach and Artichoke dip, not an easy pairing. It would be better with a big plate of pasta with some type of tomato sauce. Drink over the next five years.
