Tasting Notes for Zinfandel, North Coast, Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel 2006

From well experienced zinfandel craftsman, Rosenblum Cellars, from Alameda, California. Small lots of individual fermented, aged 14 months in American and French oak casks. The final blend a gossamer layering of warm and cool climate fruits. Initial bottle opening whiffs of bright quince, cranberry crushed fragrances. First in the glass opened up, is a nose of deep plums, cream de cassis, silky crushed raisin of full fruit tastes. A sense of substantial structure and presence even in the perceived nose. Soft, but full weight mouthfeel of layered silk, chiffon, and again gossamer zins of long aged vines to back palette elegante balanced tannins and spice lingering finish of 30 seconds or better. This deluxe wine, with an understated curtain call, quiet pure classiche e marvelous consistency...so very good, so well done: bravo Rosenblum staff and Kent Rosenblum.
