The Vibe:

Wine collectives are increasingly popular in Napa, and are fabulous venues for tasting wines from small, boutique wineries that either do not have their own tasting rooms, or are open only by appointment. A Dozen Vintners is such a collective and is home to 12 small producers, including Adams Ridge, Howell Mountain Vineyards, and Watermark, among others (see their web site for a complete list). Most of these wineries produce between 200 and 300 cases per year and source their fruit from some of Napa’s best areas (Carneros, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain, Diamond Mountain). This collective is located a bit afield along Highway 29 north of St. Helena, right across from the Freemark Abby tasting room.
