Born and raised in Los Angeles.
While attending dinner party at a young age, I took notice of a wine served, and how well it worked with the meal. Mesmerized. I can say that is where this all started.
I landed a job in a wine and cheese department in 2000 where a co-worker spoke about wind and sunshine hours and vineyard orientation and ML. I was blown away and have dedicated lots of time and money to the study of wine.
Attended Int'l Sommelier Guild in 2003-04. Learned a lot of new regions and wines.
I write articles and schedule wine tastings in Los Angeles.

What I think...

A fair restaurant corkage fee is:

....based on the overall quality and depth of the wine list and cellar.

My wine travels have taken me to the following wine regions:

All over California and to Tequila.

What I think of the movie Sideways:

Love it and would see it again.......

My "wish list" of wines I want to acquire soon:

'03 CdP. '90 Comtes de Champagne, Tattainger. '2001-2005 Terra Valentine CS. Cahors in recent vintages and 2001 Fontodi Flaccianello.

My biggest wine pet peeve:

Proprietary blends that cost too much and wine lists that show a lack of enthusiasm....

A tell-tale sign of a wine snob is:

...someone who noses their wine and keeps nosing it. And that's OK with me!

The wine region I most want to visit:

Piemonte's Barolo and Barbaresco.

The people with whom I most often enjoy wine:

Wine lovers and foodies and family.

The best wines I have ever tasted:

definitely a 1929 Chateau Y'Quem

My dream wine to one day taste or own:

1998 Petrus, 1982 Haut Brion.

My favorite wine quote:

"It's a matter of style" me.

The last wine I had that I absolutely loved:

2005 Bodega Castano 'Solanera' an inexpensive wine, Monastrell, CS and Tintorera.... fab for $11 with grilled chicken.

My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone:

I think it's OK, not overwhelmed by it though. I think it speaks to winemakers abities, not to the wine style......as an example, RP rated Australia's Clarendon Hill wine very highly. Fine. I personally don't prefer wines of that highly extracted nature. I enjoy wines of moderate extraction, with food.
