Born and raised in Los Angeles. While attending dinner party at a young age, I took notice of a wine served, and how well it worked with the meal. Mesmerized........ I can say that is where this all started. I landed a job in a wine and cheese department in 2000 where a co-worker and wine guru spoke about wind and sunshine hours and vineyard orientation and ML. I was blown away and have dedicated lots of time and money to the study of wine. Attended Int'l Sommelier Guild in 2003-04. Learned a lot of new regions and wines. I work as a wine sales rep and  represent some of the world's finest wineries, write articles and schedule wine tastings in Los Angeles.

j del c Thinks:

A fair restaurant corkage fee is:

....based on the overall quality and depth of the wine list and cellar.

A tell-tale sign of a wine snob is:

...someone who noses their wine and keeps nosing it. And that's OK with me!

The wine region I most want to visit:

South Africa and South Australia.

My "wish list" of wines I want to acquire soon:

'03 CdP. '90 Tattainger Comtes de Champagne, Billecart Salmon Clos St. Hilare. '2001-2007 Terra Valentine CS. 07 Snowden CABS, 05 Chappellet CABS. Dujac Morey St Denis. Michel Gros "clos Reas''.
Cahors in recent vintages. Any of Greg La Follette's wines.

My biggest wine pet peeve:

Overpriced proprietary blends and wine lists that show a lack of enthusiasm....

My favorite wine quote:

"It's a matter of style"-- me.

My dream wine to one day taste or own:

1998 Petrus, 1982 Haut Brion.

The best wines I have ever tasted:

definitely a 1929 Chateau Y'Quem

The people with whom I most often enjoy wine:

Wine lovers and foodies and family.

The last wine I had that I absolutely loved:

2008 Littorai 'the Haven Vyd' Pinot Noir.
This is a powerful wine. It opens with a compelling nose of black and red fruit with hints of mineral and earth. The palate shows a fine concentration of complex fruit highlighted with cherry liqueur. Bold and meaty and with a lengthy finish. Best with prime rib or fine cured meats.

What I think of the movie Sideways:

Love it and would see it again.......

My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone:

I think it's OK, not overwhelmed by it though. I think it speaks to winemakers abilities, not to the wine style......as an example, RP rated Australia's Clarendon Hill wine very highly. Fine, but personally don't prefer wines of that highly extracted nature. I enjoy wines of moderate extraction, with food. Like I said, '' it's a matter of style''. Know your winemaker and his style, and you'll always have a bottle to enjoy.

My wine travels have taken me to the following wine regions:

All over California.
All over Veneto and Franciacorta.
Texas wine country in 2011.
