I'm 22, a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder and love wine. I am currently studying for my level 2-Court of Master Sommeliers exam. feel good about taking the exam in Washington D.C. at the end of the summer. Anyone got a place for me to sleep? Traveling in Europe this summer, can't wait to drink and eat in Santorini. Ultimately I am a very young wine geek, who is driven to become a master sommelier.

Eugene Thinks:

A fair restaurant corkage fee is:

$25 problem with that, buy something off our list

A tell-tale sign of a wine snob is:

i can usual smell it on a person, a snobbish stench

The wine region I most want to visit:

im hitting a bunch of killer spots in greece italy and france this summer. id have to say chile interests me a whole lot

My "wish list" of wines I want to acquire soon:

itching to drink some older Rieslings, 1990 mosel would be nice

My biggest wine pet peeve:

is that star fruit i taste, oh no must be yuzu fruit

My dream wine to one day taste or own:

dont really dream about "a wine", i mean i dont get off to labels. the other day I did wake up craving a left bank Bordeaux, i think i had dreamed about dancing in a meadow of currant, cedarpe, ncil shavings green bell pepper was there i think -we all had a good time. Didnt even brush my teeth, the taste was lingering on my mid palate 'til noon.

The best wines I have ever tasted:

i did an '05 Trapet lineup, Chambertin was super tasty

The people with whom I most often enjoy wine:

My girlfriend, although we think she might be allergic to wine. her fingers turn red and she gets stuffed up.

The last wine I had that I absolutely loved:

Some kinda vouvray, love me some chenin

What I think of the movie Sideways:

i have to say it was a movie that caught my attention, its the reason i first drank pinot. Paraiso Pinot to be exact, and i was 20. that lead to a whole lot of reading. i am amused by the line drawn between those who love the movie and those who despise it. i mean the movie itself has a bunch of layers. those guys are fucked up, flawed humans. my kinda people.

My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone:

i remember almost two years ago, when i started getting into juice, the 100 point scale was the first thing i learned. then i learned who the popular critics were. the next thing i learned was to unlearn all that. i use the thumb system made famous by Roger Ebert. thumb up, thumb down, thumb sideways?
