I have tasted wines all over the world for the last 30 years. I am headed to Spain and Portugal this summer. I have about 600 bottles in my cellar and am always looking for other wine enthusiasts to share with. I like a wide variety of wines from sweet to dry, red, white and pink. Most of what I have in my cellar is big California Reds.

David Coleman Thinks:

A fair restaurant corkage fee is:

$10

A tell-tale sign of a wine snob is:

If they can tell you about the vineyard the wine came from and talk about "terroir."

The wine region I most want to visit:

Rioja, Spain, and Duoro in Portugal

My biggest wine pet peeve:

When restaurants that charge a lot for a glass of wine (sometimes as much as a bottle) don't let you taste it before you buy a glass.

My favorite wine quote:

"I shall drink no wine before it's time"

My dream wine to one day taste or own:

Chateau Y'Quem

The best wines I have ever tasted:

from my trip to Tuscany a nd Cinque Terra

The people with whom I most often enjoy wine:

My friends Susan and Michelle.

The last wine I had that I absolutely loved:

Spanish Granacha, also Albareno (Rias Braxis)

What I think of the movie Sideways:

Thought it was very funny, and my friends kept telling me that Miles sounds a lot like me!

My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone:

I buy what I like (and usually want to taste first). I don't always agree with anyone's rating scale.

My wine travels have taken me to the following wine regions:

All over the U.S., Germany, France, Italy (Tuscany), Spain, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia
