Tasting Notes for Chateau Le Galion Cotes de Bourg Merlot 2005
by gtv_john
Wine Tasted:
'Grand Vin De Bordeaux' blend 60% Merlot, 30% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Initial bottle whiffs of bread dough ala rising...always a promising start?
Tastes: Sadly, an empty watery mouthfeel let down; in the glass faint cranberry, near non-descriptive fruit.
Acrid tannin but filtered of most any note or distinguishing features. Unremarkable with barely there white spice at 3 second finish.
The closest this came to oak was the tree out by the driveway? Cheap and flippant. Pretend.

I can't name a specific brand but I do know it would be a full bodied smooth, dry cabernet. Preferrably Napa.
