Tasting Notes for Armida Zinfandel "Poizin" 2006

I bought this wine because of it's clever marketing. The bottle has a skull and cross bones on the label and is draped in plastic red "blood". Moreover the bottle comes in a wooden coffin. I thought my friend's 5 year old boy would love the pirate connection so I got it. The wine itself is almost port-like in its heat. I drink wine 4-5 nights a week and rarely encounter a Zin that packs so much alcoholic punch. Not my cup of tea but fun to try.
I would serve this wine for:
Halloween. Their wines are perfect for Halloween.
I shared this wine with:
Lori and Karen
The nose on this wine reminds me of:
Port in its alcohol smell.
This wine would pair well with the following foods:
Perhaps really spicy Indian or Thai. Otherwise it will overpower everything.
I think this wine is priced:
Fairly if you like the packaging. Too high for just the wine
If I have any gripe with this wine, it's that:
Alcohol content is too high.
Wine Rating:
