"Kid friendly" and "winery" are not terms generally associated with each other. However, California wine country is a popular family destination spot and, if done properly, can be a fun trek for the kids as well as the adults. IntoWine.com has scoured Sonoma County to find the best "kid friendly" wineries. The list below is in no particular order.

Arrowood Vineyards & Winery Glen Ellen - Informal but educational. An ideal place for the wine curious who want to learn about wine in an unpretentious environment. Arrowood is a cute country farm house with a nice view of the vineyards. More...

Benziger Family Winery Glen Ellen - Benziger is a must see destination spot for people planning a Sonoma winery tour. Beautiful, with a "Garden of Eden" feel to it, Benziger offers just about everything you can want in a winery experience with great wines, beautiful gardens, grand views, bio-diversity, hourly tours, picnic grounds, and even a playground for the kids. I'll be sure to steer clear of these and the other "Romper" tasting rooms. Kid's too often misbehave in our ever-increasing parent skillest society. Parents, every activity in the world doesn't always have to be kid friendly or compliant. There's a time and place for everything but let's keep wine touring and tasting for the adults, you have just about everywhere else on the planet to annoy us with your brats.

Sounds like you were one of the brats. Have a few small kids and see how you feel when they have to come along to an "adult" setting.

Thank you sir (or madam)above for staying away from here. Now I know where to go to enjoy the day without jerks like you! Being a sommelier, I would like to expose my daughter to wine and wine making as a normal natural thing, just as farming or gardening is. I would also like to show her the beautiful grounds that most of these wineries have. Why should she be deprived of learning about something our family enjoys and partaking in the beautiful scenery because some parents don't know how to control their children, and you have made the assumption that all kids are "brats"? Well, mine is not and it seems as though you are an annoying brat.

After walking around a PLAYGROUND, yes a PLAYGROUND in San Francisco and being called a "F**KING BABY MONGERER" (whatever that is), by someone pushing their dog in a stroller, I am so angered by that first comment. I don't bring my kids everywhere and nor do I believe every activity is kid appropriate. This is why I looked for such a list. I have been around some very bratty adults who could not be disciplined by their handlers. While some places are not appropriate, a FARM environment is one place that's good for kids. I won't bring my kids into the tasting rooms, but having them run around outside at places that have a PLAYGROUND should be fine. Again, not one of those people who think my children are gods and should be treated as such, but that comment was just ridiculous. That sophisticated guy should stay out of Europe where they don't shoo the kids away from the wine.

Adults so often forget that they were kids once.

Douche.

Thanks for the great tips. Live and let live pal.

You obviously are not a business major, since a major business principle of success is to promote accommodations for adults and children alike. Don't you guys have that same philosophy at McDonald's?

Very classy. Guess the world should only accommodate your vision of how things should be.

With hundreds of wineries in the valleys, it seems appropriate that some appeal to different groups.

Maybe there should be a list of wineries for snobs you'd prefer?

Dude, I am Italian. I grew up around a table that always had wine on it. My playground had vines growing on a framework on top of it. Do yourself a favor: chill down a little. Wine is OK, it’s part of life. It’s good for your heart. And yes, please do stay away from these places. Thank you.
