The Vibe

Paradise Ridge is a destination winery worth the trek. Located in what seems to be your normal, everyday, upscale suburban Santa Rosa neighborhood, Paradise Ridge couldn't be more opposite to the staid confines of its suburban neighbors. The tasting room rests on a hillside and offers an amazing view of the vineyards surrounding it. Family owned since inception, the grounds reflect the passions -wine, art, family- of the Byck clan. Sculptures by local artists are placed throughout the grounds giving the winery the appeal of an outdoor gallery. Better yet, let's call it an art park. Yet nothing is stuffy or pretentious at Paradise Ridge. You can host an elegant wedding reception there as easily as you can lay down a blanket and enjoy a wine and cheese lunch with your significant other.

The land and the winery itself have historical significance which the Byck family has gone to great lengths to preserve and display. History buffs will be intrigued to learn about the regional influence of Thomas Lake Harris or how legendary Japanese winemaker Kanaye Nagasawa made his name toiling the very land where Paradise sits today.

Paradise Ridge is a beautiful, charming winery that is worth being designated a destination spot for wine enthusiasts looking for something unique.

Particularly good if you are seeking

• Good Sauvignon Blanc or Cabernet.
• A place to hold an event such as a wedding.
• A place to picnic. They have plenty of picnic tables with an amazing view and plenty of land (strewn with intriguing sculpture
• A great view of the vineyards or a place to watch the sunset.
• A mix of great wine and intriguing sculpture and art work. There are dozens of sculptures on display throughout the grounds.
• A winery with a historical bend to it.

Not good for

• People seeking to winery hop in wine country. Paradise Ridge isn't particularly close to other wineries so it's not a convenient stop. Make this the first stop on your wine trail and then head towards Sonoma Highway to hop.
• People seeking to buy food on the premises, they have no deli or cheese/bread offerings.
• People seeking a guided tour of the production facility.
