2002 Chris Ringland Shiraz
Bottle #0611/1200. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries and cocoa. Also a bit of a saline quality to it. Full bodied. Velvety texture. Surprise #1; this is not a monster wine. It has class and elegance. Surprise #2; this is layered and complex. Seamless. Black raspberries and lots of complex layering. Bordering on a liqueur perhaps but in no way hot. A wonderful full finish that goes on forever. With high priced wines, its hard to ever say they if they are worth it. I can say I am glad I experienced this wine. One of the great Syrah/Shiraz wines of the world. A sensational wine.
