A Peter Huwiler "Graveyard Special" He buried several bottles of Merlot (1992?) in his backyard and brought them to a party - they looked awful but tasted divine! Sorry to see him leave Merryvale. He's a fun guy!
You know, I tend to love the wines that go with amazing meals and happy times spent with friends. To me, where and with whom you drink wine becomes part of the experience. I do love the Mosel's amazing rieslings and the amazing way Fiano di Avellino (perhaps a Feudi di San Gregorio or Mastroberardino) pairs with the bold seafood dishes you find in Naples and the surrounding seaside towns. I'm a lot more about the entire wine experience and much less interested in labels, price tags and scores. But that's just me.
Silve Oak Cab, Dry Creek Old Vines Zinfandel, Franciscan Magnificat, Mt. Veeder Cab, Domaine Chandon Pinot Nois, Des Voignes Cellar's Untitled and many more that were so good, I can't remember the name, if you know what I mean.
