- Wine Tasted:Tasting Notes:Organic vines und processing -don't let that deter you, a spectacular blend of Grenache e Syrah at any price tag, with taste, structure du balance far exceeding price point. Baked hard roll initial bottle open whiffs give way to stout deep plum fragrance and black berry essence in an oh~so Rhône solid message. It is alive in its' totally opaque blackness, with firm tannins you tip your hat to as you glide by on this lush French temporal excursion, but in no way are they threatening street thugs these, just a wine that ist so Rock of Gibraltar Terra Firma, easily scalable by the likes of humble vino novices like mein ownself. Strong softness thus carries you still aware of the weight into a just long enough silk finish. Great Mother of God this is performance experience way beyond the cost. Hard to form into words, but this may be a greater stand out than its more popular and available brother, the Perrin Reserve. (See Tasting Notes 12/31/-- --). Buy a case wine immediately -if thou can find it?

10th Annual Wine & Food Affair "Tasting Along the Wine Road"
November 1 & 2, 2008 ~ Saturday & Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm

A Wine & Food Affair has become the premier event for the Russian River Wine Road! Join us for a weekend of wine and food pairing in the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys.
You will receive our new "Tasting Along the Wine Road" Cookbook Volume 10 and an event logo glass as part of your ticket price. All of the wineries participating will have a favorite winery recipe in the cookbook, which they will prepare both days for you to sample, along with the perfect wine
Ticket prices: $60 Weekend; $40 Sunday Only; $20 Designated Driver
Designated Drivers will not be served any wine -however they may sample the food and they receive a copy of the cookbook. At check-in they are given a different color wristband and a mug instead of a wineglass.
The program for 2008 and tickets will be available online beginning September 15, 2008.
